EAS Supplements Body For Life CLA
CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is a natural fatty acid in various foods. It was first isolated in ground beef about a decade ago.
The word ‘Conjugated’ means the molecule has two double carbon bonds, divided by one single bond. The conjugated double bonds give Conjugated Linoleic Acid properties quite different to regular Linoleic Acid.
CLA can be found in quite large quantities in foods like dairy products, beef, veal, and even turkey. The typical person probably gets up to one gram per day just by eating normal foods. The problem is, you’d have to eat more meat or more cheese than you ever dreamed of to obtain enough CLA to see a beneficial effect. For example, cheeses average between 2.9 mg and 7.1 mg of CLA per gram of fat. You would have to eat cheese in amounts of several pounds a day to get near the four-gram dosage that is beneficial to humans. It makes more sense to take CLA supplements that contain a concentrated amounts of this unique fatty acid.
Recently, CLA has come to be known as “the fat that burns fat” because of mounting research proving its ability to improve body composition and inhibit fat storage. CLA could also help cells against the damaging effects of free-radicals, therefore aiding in muscle recovery.
